Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small neighborhood situated in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. It is the West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is a vast region that runs from Lachine all the way west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island, although this isn't the truth. Brugel was raised in Courtice near Oshawa the city of Ontario. She was determined to be a professional dancer, but because of a huge expansion, she surpassed every dance partner she met. In an interview with Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels, I'm 6 feet 1 inches." When I reached the height of my male counterparts, I stopped. A lot of dancers go from dancing to acting. As for Bruce, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her in that direction. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested that she take on a part in the school's annual show. This led to her being awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she earned her Master of Fine Arts at York University. Through the years since, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on the big and small screens, attracting the greatest media attention after she was offered the character in the role of Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel is the sole Canadian in the Season 1 cast of the show as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
